  • Polarization

The orientation angle of the electric field in an electromagnetic wave relative to a reference direction.
  • Polarization Filter

A device that allows light of a specific polarization angle to pass through while blocking other angles.
  • Electric Field

A field around charged particles that exerts force on other charges, represented by oscillating arrows in polarization.
  • Unpolarized Light

Light composed of waves with electric fields in all possible polarization angles.
  • Intensity

The power per unit area of light, which decreases when passing through a polarization filter.
  • I Notation

A variable representing the intensity of light entering a polarization filter.
  • Polarization Difference

The angle difference between the initial polarization of light and the angle of the polarizing filter.
  • Cosine Squared Law

A formula used to calculate the intensity of polarized light after passing through a filter.
  • Right Angle Polarization

A polarization angle of 90 degrees, resulting in no light passing through a perpendicular filter.
  • Acute Angle

An angle less than 90 degrees, used to describe certain polarization orientations.
