The Product Lifecycle is Pearson’s approach to developing products and services. Based on agile and lean processes that have been tried and tested in successful startups, the Product Lifecycle is consistent, scalable and repeatable, and supports innovation, governance and continuous improvement.
In 2015 Pearson’s Product Lifecycle won the Best Innovation Program prize at the Corporate Entrepreneur Awards. This award recognizes a program or new way of working that has transformed a company’s approach to innovation.
Efficacy and research across the Product Lifecycle
Efficacy and research at Pearson is not just about measuring how a product can be used to affect learning once it’s on the market. It’s about understanding what outcomes matter to learners and educators, and using that understanding to inform everything we do.
That’s why efficacy and research activities are woven into all the stages of the Product Lifecycle: from the initial idea for a product (informed by portfolio management and product strategy) to the day it is no longer offered by Pearson.
