About the Scholarship

Connections Academy and Pearson Futures knows that powerful connections prepare students for what’s next. 

This Connections Academy x Futures Scholarship celebrates graduating seniors who have thrived in a virtual learning environment and are ready to take their next step with confidence as they pursue their postsecondary goals. 

Eligibility

• Must be a Connections Academy high school senior in the 2025-2026 school year or the 2026-2027 school year. 

• Must be a legal resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. Residents of Puerto Rico and all other U.S. territories are not eligible to apply .

• Must be currently pursuing or intend to pursue in 2026-2027 or 2027-2028 courses at/a degree at an accredited U.S college or university. 

• The applicant must acknowledge that by applying for this scholarship, they consent to the use of their name, if selected as the recipient, in any and all media — including public press releases and the organization’s website — in connection with the scholarship.

Awarding Process 

There will be 2 recipients of the Connections Academy x Futures Scholarship and each will recieve $5,000.

1. Evaluation: Once the application deadline is met, an evaluation committee will review all applications to ensure they meet eligibility requirements. The applicants that meet eligibility requirements will then be considered by a standard evaluation rubric which will score their response to the required application question. The applicants with the highest evaluation score will be reviewed in a final round and two will be chosen as the scholarship recipients. 
2. Notification: The scholarship recipient will be notified via email on Friday, October 30, 2026. This email will entail how they will expect to receive the $5,000 payment, as outlined below, and final steps to confirm they meet the listed eligbility requirements. 
3. Payment: The recipients will receive their $5,000 scholarship as a lump sum payment, that will be paid directly to their intended college or university in their name. The award payments will be issues in U.S. dollars (USD). Funds may be used for all education-related expenses. The winner will be required to submit proof of their current or intended enrollment to an accredited college or university located within the United States before scholarship is awarded. The deadline to submit proof of attendance in order to receive the scholarship payment is May 31, 2027 at 11:59 am EST. Payment will be distributed directly to the college or university within 30 days of verification.
