Description

Speakout is a comprehensive six-level general English course for adults that has been developed in association with BBC Worldwide and BBC Learning English. The BBC video clips in each unit are unique to Speakout. We've retained the most popular clips and included some wonderful new material from the BBC to engage and motivate learners.   We've broadened the range of texts to reflect the types of texts learners read outside the classroom. Listening texts are also more authentic and we've included a wider variety of international accents.   We've developed a stronger pronunciation syllabus with a wider range of pronunciation features.

We've improved the overall design of the components and pages to be easier to navigate. We've refreshed the photos and illustrations completely, and selected dramatic images to introduce each new unit. Great images motivate learners, and provide excellent prompts for language activities.   One thing teachers always ask for is 'more'. More grammar, more vocabulary, more pronunciation. Speakout Extra provides a bank of additional exercises that includes grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and skills practice as well as ideas and activities for exploiting the BBC clips and interviews.   Improved functionality, including providing learner feedback, makes it easier for teachers and learners to track their levels of achievement through each level and through the course.
