Course Policies and Structure

Assignments

  • Late assignments are not accepted unless a University Approved Excuse or extenuating circumstances are provided.

  • Contact the instructor as soon as possible if you are having problems with the course.

Class Participation

  • Participation is assessed via in-class quizzes using Learning Catalytics through Mastering Biology.

  • Lowest three scores will be dropped; more than three absences require documentation.

Homework

  • Homework is available for each chapter in Mastering Biology and is designed to reinforce learning.

  • Homework is not graded, but completion may affect your grade if you are close to a grade boundary.

Online Quizzes

  • Vocabulary quizzes are due before the start of each chapter.

Exams
