Assignments
Late assignments are not accepted unless a University Approved Excuse or extenuating circumstances are provided.
Contact the instructor as soon as possible if you are having problems with the course.
Class Participation
Participation is assessed via in-class quizzes using Learning Catalytics through Mastering Biology.
Lowest three scores will be dropped; more than three absences require documentation.

Homework
Homework is available for each chapter in Mastering Biology and is designed to reinforce learning.
Homework is not graded, but completion may affect your grade if you are close to a grade boundary.
Students should expect to spend a minimum of 6 hours per week on reading, reviewing, and assignments.
Online Quizzes
Vocabulary quizzes are due before the start of each chapter.
Quizzes are open book and not timed.

Exams
Four exams are given throughout the semester, including a cumulative final exam.
