Hello everyone Today. We are being asked to identify the organic product of the reaction below. So with our first substrate on the left, we see that we have a primary alcohol and that is denoted because we see that this hydroxy group as a group is attached only to one carbon. And then we see what's known as a hydro hey lead the hydro for the hydrogen and the highlight for the cl or the halogen. And so when these two come together, this is going to form what's known as an SN two reaction or a substitution nuclear filic reaction wherein we take a hydrogen and we replace it. We take our hey lied and we replace the hydroxyl group. And so that's going to look something like this. And so instead of a hydroxyl group here, we're going to place a chlorine and then that hydroxyl group is going to form with this leftover proton to form water as a byproduct.
