An engineer is considering the designs for a suspension bridge as shown in the structural diagram below. The span length of the bridge between the tower and the anchorage must be d = 256 m while its center of gravity must be located at the middle of its length. He evaluates the forces T1 and T2 to be in the terms of the weight mg of the span and the height H of the tower which are required for the equilibrium of the system overall, assuming that the span is only balanced by the massless cables as seen in the figure. What should his calculations be? [Hint: T3 is irrelevant to these calculations.]
