30. Induction and Inductance / Motional EMF / Problem 6
Problem 6

In a laboratory experiment, a rectangular loop was pulled horizontally at different speeds ν through a uniform magnetic field B produced by a set of Helmholtz coils. The induced electromotive force (EMF) 'ε' across the loop was measured using a computer-interfaced motion sensor and voltmeter. The following table lists the recorded values of speed, 'ν' (m/s) and induced voltage, 'ε' (V):

Determine the best-fit linear equation for the data. [Hint: Plot a graph of the induced voltage 'ε' versus speed 'ν'.]
