  • Sound Intensity

A measure of the power carried by a sound wave per unit area.
  • Power

The rate at which energy is transferred by a sound wave.
  • Surface Area

The area over which a sound wave spreads, affecting its intensity.
  • Isotropic Emission

Sound emission that is uniform in all directions.
  • Sphere

A 3D shape used to model the spread of sound waves from a point source.
  • Intensity Level

A logarithmic measure of sound intensity, related to perceived volume.
  • Decibel

A unit used to express intensity level, denoted as dB.
  • Threshold of Hearing

The quietest sound that can be heard by the average human ear, 0 dB.
  • Logarithmic Scale

A scale used for intensity level, where each step represents a tenfold change.
  • Pressure

The force exerted by a sound wave per unit area.
  • Density

The mass per unit volume of a medium through which sound travels.
  • Speed of Sound

The speed at which sound waves propagate through a medium.
  • Frequency

The number of oscillations of a sound wave per second, measured in hertz.
  • Volume

The perceived loudness of a sound, related to intensity level.
  • Atmospheric Pressure

The pressure exerted by the weight of the atmosphere, approximately 101,325 Pa.
