<v ->Okay, so in this sub lesson here,</v> we're gonna talk about how to set up your Power BI environment. So, if you so choose and you wanna actually go through and do the exercises as we go through these sub lessons. Getting the environment set up, like what we're gonna talk about here, will actually help you do that. You also do have the option, if you want, to actually just observe the class and take a look at all the techniques and just watch the videos. And that's a perfectly, viable way of actually doing this learning as well. But let's just briefly talk about, the setup instructions here. So, just some general setup instructions here. We want to go and download the latest Power BI Desktop. We talked about that in previous sub lessons and then you're gonna want to have access to a Power BI Free or Pro account. The free account will be just fine for this class here but either way, you're gonna want to have access to one of those accounts. What we have is a GitHub repository, where we're gonna keep all the sample files in an instruction. So, if you take a look at the URL on the screen there this is where all of the latest instructions for doing the downloads will be housed and all the sample files. So, sometimes this is frequently changing. So, we don't want to actually put it into the slides here in the course. We'll direct to the GitHub site and then we can keep that up to date with the latest information to help you get installed here. Now, once again, when it comes to doing these installs you likely, if you're using a work machine, you will have to get your IT Help Desk to potentially help you get a lot of the stuff installed. This is not some instructions that we provide. We'll tell you where everything is and generally how to do things and where the files are. Any specific issues to your machine, if you're trying to do this that is something you need to talk to your IT Department about. And then when it comes to getting access into a Power BI Free or Pro account. Once again, that's between you and your IT Service Desk or organization you work with. Although, we will give you instructions on how to go and get a demo tenant set up, should you not have access to either one of those things and you actually want to do the class as well. But once again, we'll give you access to the tenant and it's really up to you to be able to follow those instructions from Microsoft and get everything all set up. There is no support being offered. We'll get you going in the right direction and that's really about it. Okay? So in terms of setup, now that we've talked about that. We are going to, once again, get you to download the Power BI Desktop. It's a free download and you'll install it on your machine. And once again, if you're using a work machine, you may have to go through your IT Help Desk to actually get this installed on your machine. That's a very common thing. You will also then need to have access into the Power BI Service. So you're gonna have, they're gonna require access into a Microsoft 365 tenant that may be your work tenant, or that may be a demo tenant which you go ahead and get set up on your own. Either way, that's what you're going to need in terms of the desktop and the Power BI Service. From the GitHub repository, you're gonna be able to download all the source files which you see down below there. And we're going to, on the GitHub repository, show you how to download that to your "C: drive". So that we can have consistent padding across, what I talk about and what you're actually gonna go ahead and get installed. We're not actually gonna do anything with a gateway in this class. We just have it on there for reference and same thing with the Power BI Mobile, it is optional. And if you want you can install it on a supported mobile device. We're just gonna do some brief introductions into that but these are essentially all the things you're gonna need. And lastly, of course, in the first lesson we're going to go ahead and talk about connecting into sources. And one of them happens to be a public website. So you don't need credentials to that. You'll be able to go to this site that we have within Wikipedia and pull down some information there. So this is roughly what you're going to need to actually get yourself moving in this class. Once again, we will keep all the latest instructions to get you going in the right direction on the GitHub repository. And really when it comes to your environment and your ecosystem, it's gonna be largely up to you to make sure that you can get all of that working. And sometimes, like I say, you may have to work with your IT Help Desk depending on the machine. All right? So that brings us to the end of the sub lesson that gives us everything we need to know to get moving in this. So we'll move now over into lesson number two, where we're gonna talk about data acquisition and get moving within the Power BI Desktop.
