Test Details
This document outlines the format, permitted materials, content coverage, and exam instructions for a General Chemistry college test. It is intended to help students prepare for the assessment and understand the rules and expectations.
Date: Thursday, November 6
Time: 6:30 pm – 8:15 pm
Length: 1 hour 45 minutes (105 minutes)
Format: Multiple Choice (approximately 24-27 questions)
Location: Room assignment posted separately in the Term Assessment #2 folder in D2L

Note: You may not use your own periodic table or formula sheet. A sample formula sheet will be posted in the Term Assessment #1 information area in D2L.

Content Covered
The test covers the following General Chemistry topics:
Chapter 14: All sections except 14.1
Chapter 15: Sections 15.3 to 15.4 inclusive. Note: You need to know the list of strong acids and strong bases. You do not need to memorize any Ka or Kb values.
Chapter 16: Sections 16.2 to 16.4 inclusive. Note: You do not need to know titrations of polyprotic acids in 16.4.
General Instructions
Arrive early: Be at the exam room 30 minutes prior to start time.
Do not block doorways or fire exits with coats and bags.
Fill in your bubble sheet carefully with the correct student information.
Do not redistribute exam papers; each student receives only one version.
Bathroom breaks are not allowed during the test.
Exam Conduct and Integrity
Turn off all cell phones, personal audio equipment, and electronic devices. Place them in bags.
No watches of any form may be worn.
Place student ID on the upper right-hand corner of the desk for verification.
No pencil cases on the desk; only writing materials.
No food during the exam unless medically required (water in a transparent plastic bottle is allowed).
Remove any form of head covering unless required for religious observance.
Raise your hand to ask a question or request supplies.
Maintain academic integrity at all times. Any communication with classmates is strictly prohibited.
Do not leave the exam room in the first 30 minutes or last 30 minutes of the exam.
Health-Related Guidance
If you start the exam, it is assumed you are capable of completing it. The mark will stand and be used in calculating your final grade.
If you are feeling ill during the exam, please alert your invigilator.
If you are feeling ill prior to the exam, consult your instructor and physician.
If you are fit to write, you must contact your instructor to let them know about your condition and submit an academic consideration request (ACR).
