Dimensional Analysis
A method for solving problems by isolating and converting units using ratios that connect different measurements.
Conversion Factor
A ratio or fraction that relates two different units, allowing values to be converted from one unit to another.
Given Amount
A value paired with a single unit, not yet converted or related to another unit in a calculation.
Length
A physical quantity measured in units such as inches, centimeters, yards, feet, kilometers, or miles.
Volume
A measure of the amount of space occupied, commonly expressed in milliliters, liters, or cubic centimeters.
Mass
A measure of the amount of matter in an object, typically expressed in grams, kilograms, pounds, or ounces.
Inch
A unit of length in the imperial system, equivalent to exactly 2.54 centimeters.
Centimeter
A metric unit of length, often used in conversion with inches for dimensional analysis.
Milliliter
A metric unit of volume, exactly equal to one cubic centimeter and used in common volume conversions.
Cubic Centimeter
A metric unit of volume, identical in size to a milliliter, often abbreviated as cm³ or cc.
Pound
A unit of mass in the imperial system, approximately equal to 454 grams.
Gram
A metric unit of mass, commonly used in conversion with pounds and ounces.
Kilogram
A metric unit of mass, equivalent to about 2.205 pounds, used for larger mass measurements.
Yard
A unit of length in the imperial system, equal to 3 feet or about 0.9144 meters.
Mile
A unit of length in the imperial system, equal to 5,280 feet or about 1.609 kilometers.
