Problem 5

A population of 20,000 has 100 existing diagnosed cases at the start of the year. During the year 200 new cases are diagnosed and 30 people die from the disease (deaths occurred among the diagnosed). Assuming no other in- or out-migration and no recoveries except by death, calculate the incidence proportion, year-end prevalence proportion, mortality rate, and case fatality rate. Show your calculations.
