Definition and General Characteristics

Fungal Structures

  • Hyphae: Threadlike filaments that make up the body of a fungus.

  • Mycelium: A mass of hyphae forming the main vegetative part of a fungus.

General Characteristics

Protozoa are unicellular eukaryotes that inhabit water and soil. They have complex life cycles and can survive harsh conditions by forming cysts.

  • Cyst Formation: Some protozoa form cysts to withstand adverse environments.
