Microsoft HoloLens partnership

Pearson Education is delighted to announce that it is the launch partner for Microsoft’s brand new product: HoloLens.

HoloLens is the world’s first untethered augmented reality system, and, given our recent track record with Virtual Reality and 360 Video, it feels natural that we at Pearson should look to see how this next generation of devices can be used to create memorable and effective learning experiences.

HoloLens is a device that allows the user to place and interact with holograms in their own environment. The technology is expected to have an impact on everything from gaming to healthcare, and we want to make sure that Pearson is at the forefront of this revolution in education and training.

In order to achieve this, we are already running small scale trials at the Royal Military School of Engineering, and Welbeck Defence 6th Form College. We will also be looking to develop large scale content creation and trials in a number of schools, colleges and vocational training institutions in the very near future.

Mark Christian, Learning and Innovation Director for Pearson, is thrilled with the new opportunities this partnership will bring.

Together with Microsoft, we can prove the applicability of this new technology for the education sector.
