Pearson presents Australian Dreams the insights and stories from our latest research

#PTEAustralianDreams

Skilled migrants and international students are indispensable in rediscovering and realising the 'Great Australian Dream'.

Their economic, social, and cultural contributions are critical in shaping a vision of Australia that values diversity, inclusivity, and prosperity.

That's why Pearson commissioned a study of over 3,000 people, who took the Pearson Test of English Academic to enter Australia between 2017 and 2023 during November and December last year.

Gladys' story

Growing up in the Philippines, the allure of the American Dream captivated most people. However, a chance sighting of a recruitment ad for Australia changed Gladys’s path and taking PTE was the first step. Boarding the plane was the start - next came new friends, 'thrifting' and filling the skills gap in caring for Australia's elderly.

Mayur's story

When Mayur first landed in Australia from India, he was armed with his IT skills, a work visa and confidence in his communication skills thanks to PTE. His knowledge of Australia was superficial at best, limited to its wildlife and cricket fame. Yet what he found was a fun bunch of roommates from around the world and a country ready to unfold a tapestry of opportunities.
