  • Time Series Graph

A visual tool for displaying how a variable's value changes across time intervals using plotted coordinate pairs.
  • Coordinate Pair

A set of two values representing a specific time and its corresponding measured value on a graph.
  • X-Axis

The horizontal line on a graph that represents the passage of time, such as months or years.
  • Y-Axis

The vertical line on a graph that shows the measured value for each time interval.
  • Trend

A pattern in data indicating periods of increase or decrease over time, visible through connected points.
  • Increase

A segment of data where values rise as time progresses, shown by upward movement on the graph.
  • Decrease

A segment of data where values fall as time progresses, shown by downward movement on the graph.
  • Segment

A straight line connecting two plotted points to highlight changes between consecutive time intervals.
  • Scale

A system for labeling axes to ensure the entire range of time and values is visible and accurately represented.
  • Interval

A specific span of time, such as a month or year, used to organize and measure data points.
  • Data Table

A structured arrangement of values and time intervals used to verify plotted points on a graph.
  • Span

The total range of time covered by the data, from the first to the last interval.
  • Value

The measured quantity at a specific time, plotted on the y-axis for each coordinate pair.
  • Label

A descriptive marker on an axis that clarifies what is being measured or tracked.
  • Period

A continuous stretch of time during which a particular trend, such as increase or decrease, is observed.
