About our presenter:
Clare Haviland: Subject Advisor – English
In her role as English Subject Advisor at Pearson Edexcel, Clare Haviland supports teachers in their delivery of Pearson Edexcel English qualifications in both the UK and internationally, offering 1-1 consultations, training and support with teaching resources.
Her outreach work includes supporting events in local schools through Inspiring the Future and serving as a secondary governor.
Prior to taking up this role in 2011 she was involved with secondary education in London for over a decade, teaching English in large, non-selective, 11-18 secondary schools, and holding a comprehensive range of additional responsibilities, and serving as a primary governor.
Previously, she taught English and study skills to under- and post-graduate international students, preparing them for study at UK universities. Additionally, she taught English in Malawi, and English as a Foreign and Second Language to adults and high school students in Switzerland for several years.
