For the International School Leader of the Year award, we're looking for leaders who create an exceptional teaching and learning environment for their students and staff, who are taking innovative approaches to leadership and leading by example and strengthening their school communities as a result.
What our judges are looking for
For the International School Innovator of the Year award, we’re looking for educators or teams who are spearheading innovative educational projects, leading game-changing curricular or extracurricular activities or taking a new and exciting approach to teaching and learning in their school, to make a real difference to education outcomes.
The judging team
We are delighted to have an esteemed team of international education experts on our judging panel for the Pearson International School Teacher Awards. Read about each of our judges below.
Alex Reynolds
Alex is CEO and Co-Founder of Teacher Horizons, a platform that connects teachers with international schools worldwide. Originally a teacher himself, Alex has worked in education in various countries including Japan, Canada, Nepal, Ethiopia, Uganda, Portugal and the US. He participated in the inaugural cohort of the Teach First programme and taught Geography in London. He then became Director of Studies at an international school in Portugal. Alex has since set up and scaled several successful education ventures in the UK and internationally.
Sarah Kupke
Sarah Kupke is Head of School Relationships and Partnerships at ECIS. In international school headship positions, she led teams who developed innovative, dual language and interlingual approaches to learning and language development. She has worked in the UK and Germany as a primary, secondary and special education teacher, and she taught undergraduate education in London. Driven by the conviction that the life-long journey of engaging with intercultural understanding is vital to our appreciation of one another, Sarah is passionate about pursuing a journey to nurture diversity, equity, inclusion and justice.
Natalie Williams
Natalie Williams is Director of Membership and Engagement at the Council of British International Schools, having joined COBIS after 10 years working in the publishing industry. She has worked in several COBIS Supporting Associate companies, both in the UK and internationally, in sales and marketing roles.
Before joining COBIS, she worked for Oxford University Press in their Dubai office. Natalie is a school governor for a primary school in Kent and has a passion for education both at home and overseas.
Joshua Meredith
Joshua Meredith is Head of International Assessment at Pearson School Qualifications International. In his role, he is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of our international qualifications, ensuring that assessments are accurate, timely, inclusive, and accessible to all learners. Josh is passionate about the power of assessment to shape meaningful learning experiences and says for him, it's about more than just results, it's about helping people around the world unlock their full potential through learning.
David Albon
David Albon is Director of International Curriculum, Assessment & Qualifications at Pearson, and has been working in international education for over a decade.
He holds an MBA with a specialism in Leadership Practice.
Lisa Evans
Lisa Evans is Director of International Marketing and Europe Sales at Pearson.
She leads the team of marketers at Pearson who connect international school customers with the right products and support to help them meet their education goals, whether they follow a British, international or International Baccalaureate curriculum. She is also Sales Director for Pearson for Europe and the Americas and regularly visits international schools around the world, speaking on the future of international education and learning from international educators worldwide.

Colin Bell
Colin Bell is CEO of COBIS, working with British International schools across more than 80 countries worldwide.

Kam Chohan
Kam Chohan is Executive Director of ECIS. She is committed to social justice and equity through diversity, inclusion, and intercultural understanding in international education.

Timothy Veale
Timothy Veale is Director of Copenhagen International School. He has taught at the Anglo-American School of Moscow and at international schools in Thailand, Pakistan, Turkey, USA, Germany and Denmark.

Estelle Hughes
Estelle Hughes is Head of Secondary at the International School of Dakar. She founded an NGO: Africa Learning International that supports African teachers and builds bridges across cultures and schooling systems.
