Flexible Learning and Teaching
Possible with most Pearson courses for teaching English as a second language
More and more teachers are facing the challenge of having limited contact hours with their students. Whether you’re an experienced online educator or adapting to new teaching conditions for the first time, at Pearson we’re committed to supporting you and your educational objectives.
Learn how you can deliver our content flexibly and remotely.

How to teach flexibly using our material?
Course material
All our courses are available as printed books, and most are also available as online e-texts.
Each course is supported by a presentation tool such as Active Teach - a digital, interactive version of the coursebook. Active Teach is for teachers and available on a disc or online. You can use Active Teach to project content onto a whiteboard in class, but if you are teaching remotely, you can also project it using conference call technology such as Zoom or Google Hangouts. This allows you to give your students a true-to-life, engaging lesson experience while they are studying at home.
Study and practice material
Each coursebook is supplemented by MyEnglishLab, an interactive, online workbook and self-study tool. You can use MyEnglishLab to set up classes and assign exercises to your students. The exercises are graded automatically, plus you receive a helpful analysis of your students’ engagement and progress.
MyEnglishLab should be used in combination with a coursebook, as each lesson in our coursebooks has corresponding practice on MyEnglishLab.
How does it work?

1. Teacher presents content remotely with Active Teach

2.Teacher assigns exercises in MyEnglishLab

3.Students complete exercises online in MyEnglishLab

4. Students’ work gets graded by MyEnglishLab

5.Teacher gets information from MyEnglishLab

6.Teacher uses this information to address areas
of difficulty in the next lesson
Independent study material
The flexibility packs are our answer to the current need for material that facilitates self-study and independent learning. They’re designed to help you meet the challenges that come with teaching mixed-level classes and having limited contact with your students.
COVID support with free access to MyEnglishLab
It’s important that learning continues, even if it can’t happen in person. That’s why we’re providing 60 days free access to MyEnglishLab for both our courses and generic teaching material.
