Jan Bell has worked as a teacher and teacher trainer for the British Council and Bell Educational Trust in the UK and in various parts of the world. Amongst her publications, she is co-author of the Matters series, Expert series and GOLD First for Pearson, and Face2face Advanced for CUP. She also writes for Cambridge ESOL.
Sally Burgess has been involved with the Gold series since the publication of the first edition of First Certificate Gold in 1996. She teaches at the University of La Laguna in Tenerife, Spain where she has lived since the mid 1980s with her partner and a succession of highly intelligent cats. For many years she was an oral examiner for the Cambridge ESOL main suite examinations and is, with Katie Head, the author of 'How to Teach for Exams'. Sally has an MA in TEFL from the University of Reading, UK, where she also did her PhD, a study of the differences in academic writing in English and Spanish. She is still involved with research in this area but is also interested in translation studies and teacher training for CLIL.
Lynda Edwards spent the first part of her working life teaching EFL to international students before going on to becoming involved in teacher training. She has written several course books for students from A2 level through to C1 as well as skills books, resource books, work books, Teacher’s books, tests and graded readers. She also writes for many Cambridge ESOL examinations. When not writing she enjoys reading and walking her dog ‘Bailey’ in the New Forest.
Jon Naunton is a teacher and materials writer who has written a number of coursebooks including Gold Pre-First. He started his career in Rome and went on to teach in Libya and International House London where he was a teacher trainer and director of studies responsible for examination classes. He now lives in France where he teaches at the University of Tours and writes course materials. Jon has a degree in English, an MA in second language learning and teaching from the university of London, and an MBA from CASS business school.
Amanda Thomas has worked in ELT for 25 years as a teacher, examiner and exam materials writer. Based in the UK, she now writes full-time and is the co-author of Gold First and other exam preparation coursebooks.
Clare Walsh has been in ELT for over 20 years as a teacher, teacher trainer, examiner and exam writer in the UK and abroad, with over 10 years' experience working in EAP. She has written course books and online materials for general English, exam preparation courses and university preparation courses.
Lindsay Warwick has been in ELT for over 16 years. Based in Cambridge, she is a teacher, teacher trainer, materials writer and examiner for Cambridge English exams.
