Saerhim is Senior Test Development Manager in the automated language assessment division at Pearson where she conducts research on automated language tests.

She received her doctorate degree in Applied Linguistics from Teachers College, Columbia University with a focus on second language assessment.

Her research interests include speech recognition in speaking assessment, test-takers' use of linguistic tools in writing assessment, pragmatics assessment, and young learners' assessment.

Before joining Pearson, Saerhim taught graduate courses in TESOL programs at New York University and City University of New York and taught in English language programs at Columbia University, University of Hawaii at Manoa, and Seoul National University.
