Ignited: Teaching in the AI era

Students look at laptop computer together

In the AI era, the most important question is not whether teachers should use AI, but how to use it without giving away the heart of teaching. This session explores where AI can genuinely support English language learning, where it falls short, and why educator judgment, motivation, and human connection remain central to learning. Grounded in a human-first approach, the session helps educators understand AI as an accelerator of strong teaching practice rather than a replacement for it. Participants will leave with a clearer framework for deciding when AI is useful, when it is not, and how to maintain agency in AI-enabled classrooms.
