2020 Pearson English Global Teacher Award

Each year the Pearson English Global Teacher Award competition celebrates great language teaching around the world.

It's been a privilege to recognize teachers who are constantly improving the lives of their students and demonstrating their passion for teaching.

Winners are chosen from five different regions - Africa & the Middle East, South America, North & Central America, Europe & Central Asia, Asia & Oceania.

How to enter

5 easy steps:

  1. Plan what you’ll say
  2. Film a short video of yourself telling your story (3 mins max) with only you in the video
  3. Create a private YouTube or Youku account
  4. Upload your video as unlisted to your private YouTube or Yuku account
  5. Submit your entry via the form on the entry page

In your video we want you to tell us:

Tell us about an experience you’ve been able to share with other teachers that has made a difference.

Tell us how your English teaching has enabled you to make a difference to students’ lives.

How it works

5th October, 2019: Entries open
Entries open for our global teacher award, to celebrate World Teacher Day.

10th January, 2020: Entries close 23:59 GMT. 
This is the last date for you to submit your entry for the award.

20th-24th January, 2020: Judges' selection
A panel of judges, including authors and previous winners, decide on a winner from each region.

30th January, 2020: Winners announced

March and April 2020: IATEFL & TESOL
Our five winners will fly to IATEFL or TESOL to be immersed in the world of ELT teaching.

First prize
