Again, we don't have a preference table here, but that is fine. In the plurality method, we're only looking at first place votes anyway, and that's the information that we have here. 23 is greater than 1813, and 7. So we can say that the tiger received the most first place votes and therefore is the winner of the election using the plurality method. But now we want to determine if they got the majority. We know that to get the majority of the votes, you must have more than 50% of those votes, those first place votes. Now, we know that the tiger got 23, the wildcat got 18, the lion got 13, and the panther got 7. We can add together those vote totals to get the total number of votes collected. So that's 23 plus 18 + 13 plus 7. When we add those numbers together, we get 61. Now, a majority would be greater than 50% of that. So let's find 50% or half of 61. Now, 50% of 61 is 30.5. So to get a majority, you have to get more than 30.5 of the first place votes. Now, the tiger got 23 votes, and 23 is not greater than 30.5. It is less than or equal to 30.5. So we can say that the tiger didn't get enough votes to get the majority. So again, the winner is still the tiger, but no, they did not win the majority. Great work
