Step Up
Work skills + English
Levels: CEFR A2-C1
Modular employability English course. Suitable for student-led and teacher-led classes
Step Up provides students with the universal, practical skills they need to succeed in every profession while using English. As well as emphasizing employability skills practice, the course also develops language skills with vocabulary instruction and exercises, listening, reading and notetaking skills, pronunciation drills and discussion strategies.

Why choose Step up?

- Step Up has a unique focus on improving employability skills combined with language skills.
- As Step Up is a modular course, the sequence of material can be changed to meet students’ needs or teaching needs.
- Develop personal and social skills through modules on Communication, Goal Setting, Teamwork, Critical Thinking, Leadership, Self-Management, Wellness and Social Responsibility.
- Teach language at the appropriate level: while each level covers the same modules, they are taught at the language level corresponding to the level of the students. A great solution for mixed-level study groups needing to cover the same topics.
Meet the Employability Coach
Students receive instruction from an online employability coach, who takes them through the material in each module. There are also progress check tests available for students to assess their understanding of each module. Students who achieve a score rate of 70% on every progress test are allowed to take the final exam online.
Two ways to learn and teach from Step Up
- Student-led: self-study with digital components
Students study at their own level and pace, do progress tests, and finish the course with the online exam.
- Teacher-led: self-study combined with teacher-led class using the printed or online student book
The class can be taught in-person or online. Ideally, students complete a self-study module before every class. The teacher guides students through the material and provides instruction.
