Everyone. Welcome back. Let's look at our next problem. It says Robert Sony in translocation is a condition in which a chromosome becomes attached to another. What type of autism? A chromosome is typically affected by Robert Sony in translocation? So let's look at our different um chromosome types uh and go through them before we think about this. A meta centric chromosome is one where the arms are of equal length. So the centrum ear is in the middle of the chromosome. So centrum ear in the middle and the arms are therefore of equal length. So we imagine our, our little chromosome here with our centrum ears and our little arms are of equal length and a tallow centric chromosome. We've got the center mirror at one end of the chromosome. So imagine our little central Europe here, little arms coming down. So we'll say centrum ear at one end, an acro centric chromosome, the central near is near the end. So you end up with long arms and short arms. So there's a disparity in length between the arms of the chromosome and finally sub sub medicine trick, the centrum ear is near the middle. So it's not in the exact middle, the arms do have a disparity of length, but there's not a great difference. So arms similar length. So if we think about a situation where one piece of a chromosome is gonna combine, get stuck to another, um the type of chromosome typically affected by that is choice C acro centric where that center mirror is near the end, but not at the end. And if we want to kind of have visual of how this happens, I'm going to put up a little diagram here. So here's our acro scented chromosomes. We've got a long arm and a very short arm. So we've got two different chromosomes. And after the Robert Sony in translocation, the long arms are now attached to each other, making a kind of new chromosome here. And the short arms also join, but they eventually get lost like after cycles of cell cell cycles with cell reproduction, um the short arms get lost. Now, you can see where in the initial generation where this happens, you don't see much of an effect because this individual has most of the genetic material of the original chromosomes because the short arms had so few genes on them that the loss of those short arms doesn't have much of an effect. You have pretty much the same material when you go down to the next generation. When you're having chromosomes dividing to form gametes, you can see where that is going to be an issue because you have the potential for monogamy or Trisomy when you've got your combined trans located chromosome here, Um either missing the second one or having an extra one. So as soon as you combine gametes from a person with a Robert Tony in translocation with normal gametes, you then have the potential for say trisomy is in the next generation. But again, Robert Sony in translocation when one chromosome becomes attached to another, um it is the choice e acro scented chromosomes typically affected by this kind of translocation.
