Pearson wins Best Innovation Culture and Best Innovation Program awards at the 2015 Corporate Entrepreneur Awards

Pearson becomes first company to win award in both US and UK markets

Last Wednesday, Pearson won the award for ‘Best Innovation Culture’ at the Corporate Entrepreneur Awards in London, just a few weeks after winning ‘Best Innovation Program’ in New York City - both for the Pearson Product Lifecycle. This framework for product development and investment governance helps Pearson embed lean and agile best practices at scale and stay ahead in a fast-moving industry.

The Corporate Entrepreneur Awards, hosted by Market Gravity, celebrate innovation in big business, and recognise the individuals and teams behind it. This year over 100 global and market-leading brands including Coca-Cola, TSB and Standard Life entered the European awards, making it the largest pool yet. The other category finalists for Best Innovation Culture were: Unilever Foundry from Unilever; Innovate18 from Crossrail; Learning faster than the competition from William Hill Online and RWE Innovation Hub from RWE.

The judges were impressed by Pearson’s level of resources, commitment and trust used to introduce this major cultural change. They also recognised the effective programmatic approach to implement the changes.

Robin Scarborough, Partner and Managing Director of Market Gravity says: “We were overwhelmed by the standard and volume of nominations this year and it’s fantastic to see such outstanding, innovative work being produced by so many top European businesses. Pearson’s commitment to innovation and their investment of time and resource really impressed the judges. This, coupled with the success of One Pearson Global Product Lifecycle demonstrated that their investment has really helped to enhance both Pearson’s business and overall profile in the marketplace.”

“This is an incredible achievement for Pearson,” says Sonja Kresojevic, SVP Global Product Lifecycle. “Winning the award for Best Innovation Culture —just weeks after winning for Best Innovation Program—speaks volumes about how Pearson is embracing the Product Lifecycle’s lean and agile principles of fast failure, clear accountability, transparency, and strong community building, which in turn, are making the company faster, more nimble, and focused on creating products that truly improve the lives of learners. We could not be more honoured to have received these awards.”
