COVID-19 presented many challenges to higher education. One important challenge was exam administration. This presentation will discuss and demonstrate the tools and techniques used in a large course to address the issue of online exams. Specifically, this presentation will discuss Microsoft 365® (Teams, Forms, and Power Automate), and PowerShell scripting, Zoom. Lastly, this presentation will discuss the lessons learned from the administration of 1773 exams in the spring of 2020. Notably, this approach won the Spring 2020 Best Faculty Use Case story from Microsoft Teams, All Star Teams in Higher Education.

Professor Amy Kinser, Indiana University Bloomington

Amy is the series editor and author for the Your Office Microsoft Office Series. She holds a BA degree in chemistry with a business minor from Indiana University, and a JD from the Maurer School of Law, also at Indiana University. After working as an environmental chemist, starting her own technology consulting company, and practicing intellectual property law, she has spent the past 20 years teaching technology at the Kelley School of Business in Bloomington, Indiana. Currently, she serves as the director of computer skills and senior lecturer at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University Bloomington.
