Hello everyone in this video we're going to be looking at this problem where we want to solve the equation four Y squared minus 36 Y. So in this case we're not given that it's equal 20 things. So I'm just going to go ahead and say it's equal to zero and that's gonna help us to find the value for why. So in this case we have four y squared minus 36 Y. Is equal to zero. And notice that both of the terms terms have Y values in them. So I can factor out a why? And if I do that my new equation is why times four Y minus 36 Is equal to zero. Well we can take it even further and notice that 36 is also divisible by four. So we can also take out four. So on that side of the parentheses we'll have four Y. And the inside becomes why - And that's still equal to zero. So now we have factored the expression the most we can So we can set each of these terms for Y&Y -9 equal to zero and solve for Y. So the first one is four, Y is equal to zero. And if we divide by four we get y is equal to zero And our second term Y -9 equal to zero. We add nine. We get why is equal tonight. So now we have why is equal to zero or 9? And these are the values we get when we factor out the expression and you can see that this aligns with answer choice D.
