So first we have to look at factors that affect hydration energy. That's going to be the size of the ion. And with the size of the ion typically the larger the ion, you're going to have a lower hydration energy. Furthermore, with the charge of the ion with the charge of the ion, that relationship is going to intel that when you have a higher charge, this is going to directly lead to a higher hydration energy. And this is because that higher charge leads to a higher charge density. And so we know that between our chloride and our perc low rate they have the same charge Of -1 or -1. But Cloe right, is smaller then per chlorate. And of course because there's only two oxygen's with chloride and only four oxygen's with per chlorate. So we see that clo right will therefore have a higher charge density and therefore a higher hydration energy. So our answer is going to be chloride.
