About the speakers

Dr. Nicolas Vincent, HEC Montréal
Dr. Nicolas Vincent is an Associate Professor of Economics at HEC Montréal. He received his MA in economics from Queen’s University and a PhD in economics from Northwestern University. His main research interests are in macroeconomics and his work has been published in top economic journals such as the Quarterly Journal of Economics, Econometrica, and the Review of Economic Studies. He has also worked at the Department of Finance of Canada and the Bank of Canada. Dr. Vincent teaches macroeconomics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and has won many teaching awards over the years. He has been invited to teach in numerous business schools around the world and regularly appears as a guest speaker in corporate settings to discuss global economic trends and related topics.

Dr. Pierre Yared, Columbia Business School
Dr. Pierre Yared is the MUTB Professor of International Business and Vice Dean for Executive Education at Columbia Business School. His research, which has been published in leading academic journals, focuses on macroeconomic policy, political economy, and growth. He is a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research and an associate editor of the American Economic Review. Dr. Yared teaches Global Economic Environment, a Core MBA course in macroeconomics for which he received the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Economic Club of New York. Dr. Yared received his AB in Economics from Harvard University and his PhD in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
