Hi everyone. Let's look at the next problem. Using a crab as a sample organism living in a mangrove ecosystem. Identify which of the following images illustrates the correct biological hierarchy. Well, if we're thinking of biological hierarchy, we could also say a biological levels of organization. So looking at increasing organization, increasing complexity as you go up in these levels. Well, when we're thinking about that an increasing organization, we'd want to think about what is the most basic unit of life. What would we start with? And that we would recall is the cell the single cell. So again, when we have different answer, choice is always a good idea to glance over all of our choices and see can we identify right away a correct answer or eliminate incorrect answers. So knowing that we have to start with the cell we'll just quickly and I'm going to scroll down so that we can see all of the answers here. Look for we need we know that the answer must begin with the cell. So Choice A. Yes we see our cell first here so we'll just keep on scrolling down. But Choice B. Does not start with a cell. Then when multiple cells are together we could combine into a tissue. Similar cell types but working together in tissue. Now we go what next level up? Well we've got different tissues working together at the level of a single organ. Then that organ works with other parts of the other things coordinating together as part of an organ system. Next level up multiple organ systems making up the organism. In this case our crab. So here we are at the sample organism. Next level up we see we have two different species of crab in the picture. So when we have multiple species coexisting together we call that a community. So and finally on up we've got our communities of different species coexisting multiple organisms as well as the non living things in the surroundings. Making up an ecosystem in this case are mangrove ecosystem. So Choice A. Is our correct answer. Properly in order of increasing biological levels of organization that biological hierarchy.
