David Mayer is an AP® Economics author, AP® Distinguished Educator, and College Board–endorsed consultant with nearly two decades of experience supporting AP® Economics teachers. He has served as both an AP® Exam Reader and Table Leader, bringing deep insight into AP® exam expectations and student performance. With a background in economics and educational psychology, David is widely respected for his ability to make complex economic concepts clear, engaging, and classroom‑ready. His work focuses on strengthening economic reasoning, aligning instruction with the AP® course framework, and supporting effective teaching practice. David is the co-author of Pearson’s Foundations of Economics, AP Edition.
