Our track record

We've developed our apprenticeships in collaboration with employers, combining on-the-job and off-the-job training to equip learners with the skills for a career in a range of sectors, including:

  • Construction
  • Logistics and warehousing
  • IT and communications
  • Engineering
  • Driving
  • Customer service

In our work with the British Army, we have designed and delivered training schemes for 4,700 soldiers with 2,000 having already completed their certification and 2,700 currently in the process of doing so. New apprentices are being brought on to our programmes all the time.

As part of our Army Apprenticeship pathway, we offer functional skills qualifications in English, maths and ICT, alongside technical training to provide soldiers with essential knowledge in their chosen trade.

The programme includes elements looking at wider civilian trade requirements, while we also offer support in gaining real work experience in the Field Army and on operational deployments.

Our approach

Our apprenticeships run from Level 2 to 5 and cover a series of frameworks – or work-related qualifications – such as:

  • A Competence element (often an NVQ) to give learners a strong grasp of specific job-related tasks
  • A technical certificate such as a BTEC or City & Guilds progression award, which can provide additional knowledge of the chosen career path
  • Transferrable Skills such as Functional Skills, which enable workers to develop abilities in more general areas, including communication, team-working and problem-solving
  • Employee Rights and Responsibilities 
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

Will I get help funding?

There's never been a better time to offer an apprenticeship training scheme. From 2017, the Government will require all employers in England with a pay bill of more than £3million each year to contribute to an apprenticeship levy.

Employers can then benefit from this fund by applying for financial support for their training and assessment needs through a digital apprenticeship service account. Separate arrangements are to be put in place for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
