Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, has been awarded silver accreditation against the Investors in People Standard in the UK, demonstrating their commitment to high performance through good people management.

Pearson is the UK's largest awarding organisation offering academic, vocational and work-based learning qualifications, including BTEC, Pearson Edexcel GCSE and A levels and LCCI. As well as qualifications, the company also provides textbooks, online resources, education services and professional development tools which are used by teachers and students across the country.

Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results. Underpinning the Standard is the Investors in People framework, reflecting the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry. Investors in People enables organisations to benchmark against the best in the business on an international scale.

All 2,000 of Pearson UK employees, across its ten sites, took part in the re-accreditation process, alongside 2,000 ‘Associates’, who are contracted to examine, moderate and verify qualifications.

Pearson has held bronze IiP accreditation since 2004.

“We’d like to congratulate Pearson. Investors in People accreditation is the sign of a great employer, an outperforming place to work and a clear commitment to success. Pearson should be extremely proud of their achievement.”

— Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People

“I’m extremely proud that Pearson has reached the next level of the Investors in People Standard. It’s testament to the hard work and dedication my colleagues place on employee engagement. Through initiatives such as Pearson U (an online learning and development resource) and Employee Wellbeing (a series of events and toolkits focused on wellbeing) we are focused on supporting our employees and making Pearson a great place to work, and look forward to building on these efforts in the future.”

— Rod Bristow, President of Pearson in the UK
