Subject panels

Find out about the groups of subject and sector stakeholders sharing their expertise with us as we redevelop our GCSE, A level and BTEC qualifications.

Why do we need subject and sector panels?

Government changes to the regulatory and policy frameworks of AS and A level, GCSE, BTEC and Apprenticeship qualifications have put greater emphasis on the views of subject and sector stakeholders. So, as part of our redevelopment process, we consult with a wide range of external stakeholders.

We work with stakeholders in two main ways, for:

  • broad research and engagement – building primary evidence through one-to-one interviews, questionnaires, informal meetings and online discussions and communities
  • objective advice, challenge and validation – evaluation of evidence through subject and sector panels of external stakeholders.
