Under the proposed Level 3 reforms, learners will be hugely disadvantaged as fewer students will be able to study the Creatives given the work experience requirement of the T Level.
This work experience requirement may be difficult to fulfil due to the high number of SMEs and sole traders in the Creatives industry. This will be felt more acutely in specific regions where there are few Creatives employers to offer the industry placements, or where employers that have capacity are already utilising this to run their Apprenticeship programmes.
Full-time BTEC qualifications provide a strong route into higher education and make a significant contribution to the graduate led Creatives workforce. They facilitate progression to the range of graduate careers needed by the industry.
