This session will discuss blogging as a tool to accomplish course goals beyond merely retention of content. Blogs are a powerful way to use writing for various audiences as a tool to engage students with course material, each other, and the larger public. Moreover, they provide opportunities for reflective learning, which has larger metacognitive benefits as well. We’ll look at the basics of blogging, some free blogging platforms, and various blogging assignments to consider for students.
