Concrete suggestions with examples are presented for determining appropriate pre-class preparation as well as how to build upon those out-of-class assignments to enhance instruction and optimize learning through increased participation.

With a plethora of instructional resources available, it is time to shift more responsibility for learning to our students, better equipping them to be lifelong learners. But, how do we go about making that shift effectively and efficiently?
