In this session, we will discuss the current nomination (of Merrick Garland) to the U.S. Supreme Court and its status in the wake of the election, as well as the ways in which the next president is likely to shape the judicial institution.

The results of the 2016 election are particularly important for the U.S. Supreme Court. Although the Court is always affected by the change of administration, it will be particularly impacted this time due to the six-month long justice vacancy.
