About the speakers

Dr. Mary Jo Homes
Dr. Mary Jo Holmes is principal of Robertson County Virtual School, a fully online, grades 6–12 school delivering a college preparatory program to students seeking a non-traditional learning opportunity. Robertson County Schools in Springfield, TN, established the school to help all students reach and exceed high academic standards, while empowering them to succeed in a technologically advanced and culturally diverse society.

Janet Schell
Janet Schell is principal of Oxford Virtual Academy, which provides rigorous, personalized learning for at-risk students, learners not well served by traditional schools, homeschoolers, and many gifted students. The academy pairs quality curriculum with a strong teacher presence and leverages partnerships in the community to give learners more hybrid experiences. Ms. Schell, also principal of Oxford Schools Early College program, is a member of the International Association for K–12 Online Learning (iNACOL) and the Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning.

Kevin Hogan
Kevin Hogan has been managing director of content for Tech & Learning since 2008. Previously, Mr. Hogan was senior editor of MIT Technology Review and editor of the magazine's website. He was also formerly a features editor for Business 2.0 magazine. Mr. Hogan has been reporting and writing about the intersection of business and technology since 1993. His work has appeared in numerous publications, including Wired, Forbes ASAP, and Small Business Computing magazines.
