Diversity and inclusion in Geography
We believe that the Geography curriculum should be representative and inclusive of all learners. Diversity and inclusion is an ongoing journey for us, which is why we’re committed to ensuring increased diversity and inclusion in our Geography qualifications, assessments and teaching materials.

GA Conference 2022 – Practical steps to diversify your geography lessons
It seems a long time since the last in-person Geography Association conference in April 2019! We are very much looking forward to seeing you at the conference this year. Part of our plans for the conference include a workshop entitled Practical steps to diversify your geography lessons. In this hands-on session presented by Decolonising Geography we will:
- Explore ways to improve the diversity and inclusivity of geography lessons through case studies and resource selection.
- Discuss experiences of adapting your geography curriculum to improve diversity and inclusion.
- Look at opportunities to decolonise and critique aspects of geographical knowledge.
- Provide practical ideas to take away and use in your classroom.
Don’t miss the session if you are attending which will take place Tuesday 9 April at 9am to 10 am and do make sure you come and visit us on stands 4 & 5!
