You should use the reproduction request form when you want to reproduce an extract from a Pearson product in a new publication/product.
You should use the copy request form when, for example, you want to photocopy an extract from a Pearson product to include in an educational course pack, or to make an extract available to a specified number of students through a password protected website. You should also use this form to request permission to photocopy an out of print work in its entirety.
If you are unsure, please submit your request to us and we’ll let you know whether or not we control the rights in the requested material as soon as we can. As a guide we usually control rights in educational titles published in the UK under the imprints listed below:
Addison Wesley, BBC Active, Causeway, Edexcel, Ellis Horwood, Ginn, Harvester Wheatsheaf, Heinemann, Longman, Oliver & Boyd, Payne Galway, Pearson, Pitman, Prentice Hall, Rigby.
You will need our permission to do this. Please submit copies of both the original extract and your adapted/reworded extract together with your request form. Then we can make a decision on whether this is acceptable.
This information will be in the end user licence agreements which accompany the products. If you have single user versions of the products you are not permitted to network them. This applies to old and new products, cassettes as well as CDs for example. For Schools products, contact digital.support@pearson.com for further information. For other products you should speak to your sales advisor.
We may be able to give you permission to transfer content, from a cassette to a CD or from a video to a DVD for example, depending on the rights we have been given for the product in question. Please contact us at permissions@pearson.com with the author, title, ISBN and details of how and why you would like to convert the product.
Yes, you must ask for permission. Pearson may not control the performance rights even though we have published the play; please check the acknowledgements within the publication for information relating to performance rights. If you submit your request and we do not control the rights we will refer you to the correct rights holder or agent where we have this information.
Where Pearson does control the rights we may charge a fee for the performance and will require information about your production. We will need to know how many performances are being staged and the admission fee being charged in addition to the author, title and ISBN of the published play. Please email us at permissions@pearson.com.
You must request permission to show our books in any form or media; Pearson may or may not control the rights in the cover images. Please send details of how the book will be used together with the author, title and ISBN. We may grant you permission or refer you to the correct rights holder (where known). Please contact us at permissions@pearson.com.
Check the credits, acknowledgements, and notes on the copyright page or at the back of the publication. Copyright in photographs or illustrations often belongs to the photographer or illustrator rather than the publisher. We do not keep physical copies of all of our books and are unable to check this material on your behalf. If material is attributed to another source, person or institution, please contact the cited party. If there is no relevant attribution then please submit your request using the reproduction request form or copy request form as appropriate.
