The role of a business administrator is supporting and engaging with different parts of the organisation and interacting with internal or external customers.
Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike; from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector. The role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services.
The Business Administrator apprenticeship is a Level 3 standard and has been designed to help apprentices develop a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike; from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector. The role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services.
The administration role may be a gateway to further career opportunities, such as management or senior support roles.
The typical duration for this apprenticeship is between 12 and 18 months depending on the apprentices’ previous experience and access to opportunities to gain the full range of competences.
In order to meet the apprenticeship standard, apprentices must achieve a minimum of Level 2 Maths and Level 2 English.

The purpose of the end-point assessment (EPA) is to confirm that apprentices have met the required level of knowledge, skills and behavioural standards set by employers and that they are competent in their role as business administrators. There are three components that make up end-point assessment for the Business Administrator apprenticeship standard.
The overall apprenticeship is graded as Pass/Distinction.
