This session explores innovative digital approaches to achieving your educational goals in the environmental science classroom. We will examine course structure, as well as opportunities to integrate simple and more sophisticated formative assessments that can improve learning outcomes and free valuable class time. We will also discuss uses and benefits of the Mastering Environmental Science platform in achieving these goals.

Justin St. Juliana
Justin St. Juliana is a lecturer in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department at Cornell University, where he currently teaches Cornell’s large mixed majors/nonmajors Ecology and the Environment course. He holds a bachelor’s degree in animal ecology from Iowa State University, a master’s degree in evolutionary ecology from Ben Gurion University of the Negev (Israel), and a PhD in biology from Indiana State University. His research lies at the interface of predator prey interactions, optimal foraging, and stress hormones. He recently developed the Process of Science, Global Connects, and Focus on Figures activities associated with The Environment and You, Third Edition in Mastering Environmental Science.
