About the speakers
Susan Barry, Pearson, Manager of Instructional Design
Susan Barry holds an MA in Literature from University College Dublin. Before joining Pearson, she was an instructor at Shawnee Community College teaching English Composition, Argumentation, diverse literature classes, Introduction to Philosophy, and Ethics. She was also division chair of the Humanities and Social Sciences, and an early adopter of online teaching. She worked with other division chairs and faculty to develop a fully online associate’s degree, and trained faculty on creating and teaching online courses. She's been with Pearson for eight years: first as lead instructional designer, designing courses for the University of Southern California; and then as manager of instructional design. She has managed course development for over 20 programs across 15 academic partnerships.
Amy Wood, Pearson, Director, Learning Research & Design
Amy Wood develops and applies learning design practices that result in outcomes-focused and evidence-based products. She works at the intersection of ed tech product design and the application of learning science, to help change lives. Wood holds an MS in Instructional Design from Lehigh University.
