Pearson Campus Ambassador Program

We're hiring students to work part-time with Pearson on campus and help students do well in their courses. Campus Ambassadors will gain valuable work experience while playing a vital role in helping students succeed with Pearson programs. It's a win-win!

Benefits of becoming a Campus Ambassador

  • Acquire or improve valuable career skills such as problem solving, public speaking, and communication
  • Expand your professional network working side by side with educators, Pearson employees and fellow students
  • Express your passion for education and help your peers succeed
  • Publish your work via social media outlets, internal newsletters, and Pearson products
  • Receive relevant work experience and enhance your professional development

Responsibilities

  • Lead demonstrations and/or presentations about Pearson’s technology products for students and faculty
  • Create events, activities, and opportunities that help students best use Pearson technologies
  • Collect feedback from students through focus groups, surveys, and individual interviews
  • Work with Pearson to promote current and future products
  • Participate in conference calls, trainings, and regularly scheduled team meetings
  • Commit to an average of 1-5 hours per week on-campus

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled at a college or university in the U.S. or Canada
  • Must be 18 or older and a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Must be in their first, second, or third year of undergraduate study
  • All undergraduate majors are encouraged to apply
  • Family members of Pearson employees are not eligible

Marcel is a student at Prince George's Community College, where he is majoring in communication with a focus on public relations/journalism. He plans to receive his associate degree and transfer to the University of Maryland, College Park, where he intends to pursue a bachelor's degree in journalism. When he is not in a meeting for the Student Governance Association or studying, Marcel enjoys volunteering and traveling to various places. As an avid fan of amusement parks, he hopes to one day be able to travel the world and visit all of the amusement parks across the globe. Marcel is excited about being a Pearson Campus Ambassador and looks forward to spreading the word about how Pearson programs and resources can improve the lives of students all across campus!

Nicole grew up in Guayaquil, Ecuador and moved to the United States when she was only nine years old. She is currently attending Guilford Technical Community College in North Carolina, where she is working on her Associates of Art. In the fall, she will be transferring to a four year university to pursue a career in psychology. She really wants to focus on child and adolescent development in order to work as a therapist in the near future. Nicole is part of many clubs at school including the Spanish Club and the Rotaract Club, where she loves to volunteer when she can from time to time. Outside from school, Nicole enjoys doing yoga, watching anime, going to art museums, and eating all sorts of chocolate. She wishes to travel around the world one day in order to learn more about different cultures.

Pathik is a highly competitive and motivated student who is double majoring in accounting and management information science at Temple University in the City of Brotherly Love. In his free time, he is either attending sporting events and cheering on the Temple Owls or participating in various extracurricular activities. He is actively involved and holds executive board positions in the Financial Management Association, South Asian Student Society, and American Medical Student Association. In the summer of 2015, Pathik completed an accounting internship with Hershey Entertainment and Resorts in the sweetest place on Earth. After graduating from college, Pathik would like to work in corporate accounting due the vast amount of opportunities available. He also loves to travel, play basketball, and read. Pathik is excited to join Pearson as a PCA and cannot wait to learn more about this well-established company.

Sahil is excited to work as a Pearson Campus Ambassador because he considers education as a necessary building block for success. In this way, he can provide other students with unique opportunities and resources at his large university. He believes that working with Pearson will also allow him to get a different outlook on the professional world. Travis is a Computer Information Systems major at Texas State University in San Marcos. Travis is involved in his fraternity, Delta Tau Delta, and also participates in Young Life San Marcos. After receiving his bachelor’s degree he plans to work for a Fortune 500 company and use his knowledge of computers. In Travis’s spare time he enjoys watching the Dallas Cowboys as well as the Dallas Mavericks. Travis is very excited to be working with Pearson and representing them as a Student Ambassador at Texas State.

Clayton is a double major student in biology and nutrition at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. After receiving his bachelor’s degree he hopes to continue on to graduate school to become a naturopathic doctor. He is currently actively involved as the event coordinator in the Silent Raiders, an American Sign Language organization at his school. Clay is also a certified YogaFit instructor and in his spare time he loves to go on bike rides and be outdoors. He is very excited to be on board with Pearson and to be in the PCA program. He is passionate about helping others to succeed and hopes that his position at Pearson provides many opportunities to do so.

Hannah is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Once she has graduated, she hopes to get her master’s degree in Educational Psychology. She has been a teaching assistant for three semesters, where she has developed experience helping students understand difficult concepts and material. She is a member of the Honors Program at her university, where she is beginning a three-semester long research project on the attitudes towards individuals with special needs. In addition to being a Pearson Campus Ambassador, Hannah works one-on-one with special needs children. She hopes to continue working with autistic children for her career. During her free time, she loves sitting down with a book, and spending time with her family and friends. Hannah has always had a soft spot for helping people. Being a campus ambassador allows her to do just that by helping students achieve.

Ryan is a self-motivated student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette seeking a degree in informatics with a concentration in web design. While attending, Ryan has enjoyed every opportunity to enhance his interest in the world of technology and how it evolves over time. He is also an active member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) on campus. After graduation, Ryan hopes to have a career in either software or network engineering. His ultimate goal is to aggressively engage in technologies that impact the developing world. Outside of school, he enjoys developing IOS applications, casually plays soccer, practices judo, and teaches senior citizens how to use new technology. He has also worked as an Apple Specialist for Simply Mac, where he met the demands of customers seeking to use an IOS or OSX device. Ryan takes a great interest in assisting others in any way he can, and feels that helping students succeed academically while working as a Pearson Campus Ambassador allows him to do just that.

Corey grew up in Newnan, Georgia, just south of Atlanta. After graduating from East Coweta High School in 2011, Corey went on to attend Georgia Military College, where he played two years of NJCAA Division 1 Soccer. Corey was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society, where he stood as Regional President of Georgia and Chapter President of the Alpha Omicron Epsilon Chapter.

After graduating from Georgia Military College in 2013 with an Associate in Science, Corey went on to attend the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. He currently attends the Terry College of Business, where he is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Corey is also a Hope Scholar, leader in the society of entrepreneurs, and stands as Regional Coordinator for the South Region of the Pearson Campus Ambassador Program. He also actively writes for the Pearson Students Blog and his own blog, which is found at www.coreygeary.com. Corey plans to graduate from college and continue his educational experience at Pearson.

Secondary Education – Social Studies | Expected Date of Graduation: Spring 2016

Gabriella is pursuing a degree in secondary social studies at the University of Mississippi. After college, she plans on getting a master's degree in higher education administration. Gabriella is involved in many extracurricular activities that divide her time. She is the founder and president of a nonprofit, Students for a Safe Ride, which offers a safe ride for University of Mississippi students during evening hours on the weekend. She is also heavily involved in student government and serves as the acting director of student organizations for the Associated Student Body. She is also involved in Orientation Leaders, the Ole Miss Alumni Association, Teachers of Tomorrow, Campus Crusades, and a Greek Panhellenic organization. Gabriella spends her time outside of school training for marathons, working as a teacher's assistant, volunteering at the Boys and Girls club, and traveling. Gabriella enjoys meeting and interacting with new people. She is excited to join the Pearson family and to encourage other students to get excited about learning with Pearson technologies.

Emily is a hardworking Hokie, born and raised in Virginia Beach. She is pursuing a double major in finance and management consulting. When she is not studying or giving presentations, she is with her sorority, Kappa Delta, or swimming laps at the school pool. She loves going to the beach, eating ice cream, and spending time with friends. Emily has always taken a leadership role in group projects, sports teams, and school positions. She enjoys attending Virginia Tech football games and supporting her Hokies. She has been a part of the Campus Ambassador team since March 2013 and became a Regional Coordinator in 2014.

Melanie grew up around Savannah, Georgia, moving around the area before her family settled down in Rincon, Georgia. There, she graduated with honors from South Effingham High School with small business management and French pathways under her belt. From there, Melanie attended Armstrong State University for one semester before transferring to Georgia Southern University in the spring. There, she is pursuing a double major in writing & linguistics and biology. Melanie intends to continue her education as a continuing dean's list student and HOPE Scholar to work towards a career in wildlife journalism. Outside of school, Melanie's interests include drawing, photography, and horseback riding (her sport of nine years). Melanie is a regular volunteer in the equestrian community as well as in her local community, with over 200 hours of volunteering to date.

Alex was born and raised in New Jersey, but decided to move to the Sunshine State for her college career. She currently attends Florida International University in Miami, Florida, and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in English and marketing. She also works at the Children's Creative Learning Center, a preschool located on campus, as the lead office assistant. This position allows her to gain knowledge that will benefit her career goals in K-12 curriculum and resource development. Alex is involved — and holds leadership positions — in many campus organizations, and is an active and proud member of her sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi. Her dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed, as she has been nominated for Student Employee of the Year, won most dedicated sister of her sorority, and is a Jelke Family Scholar. Alex is excited to join the Pearson family to help students individualize their education process and, ultimately, become better learners.

When she isn't in class, she is leading Young Life at a local high school, catching up with friends, or spending time with her family. Ben is a Haslam Scholar and swimmer at the University of Tennessee located in Knoxville, Tennessee. He is currently double majoring in Business Analytics and Psychology with plans to start graduate school after he graduates in May, 2016. In the future, he wants to work at a Fortune 500 company and eventually win a business analytics competition through the website Kaggle. Ben is on the university swim team at UT and has competed at SEC Championships, US National Championships, and US Open Water National Championships. He also is on the board of Pursuit, UT’s undergraduate research journal, and the organizing board of TEDxUTK. In his free time he likes to screen print and hike around Knoxville. He has been a Pearson Campus Ambassador since May of 2014.

Leead is a student at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. Originally from Israel and a veteran of the Israeli Defense Forces, Leead wants to become an IT professional and software developer with a main interest in databases, cyber security, and web development. Leead is a brother in the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, along with his involvement with the local Hillel Jewish Student center. Leead is a die-hard FAU Owls fan, and attends all of the home games. Leead hopes he can use his leadership skills and the persistence he gained from his military service to help students on campus, while promoting Pearson's products with the help of social media.

Since enrolling at the University of Florida, Haley has become involved in Greek life and the Florida Cicerones. When Haley isn't spending time with her sisters of Alpha Delta Pi or giving tours to prospective Florida Gators, she loves to volunteer at UF Health Shands Hospital. Haley dreams of becoming an occupational therapist and working with our nation's veterans. The Pearson family has welcomed Haley with open arms, and she can't wait to see what her future with Pearson holds.

Connor is a driven Criminal Justice major at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. He is also studying Strategic Intelligence and Sociology. At Liberty University, Connor holds a position in the Office of Student Leadership and leads a focused bible study every week. He is also a member of the Criminal Justice Club through which he once experienced the privilege of taking part in Lt. Col. Dave Grossman’s “The Bulletproof Mind” training. After college, he intends to become a police officer and then work his way into the FBI. When not working or doing school work, Connor enjoys spending time outdoors. He played football in high school and plays for an intramural team at Liberty. Connor also loves reading, writing, hiking, swimming, kayaking and fishing. Aly is a Junior at The Florida State University studying Exercise Science. She is pursuing a career in medicine and plans to attend a Physician's Assistant school upon graduation. She is involved on campus as the PR & Local Outreach Officer for MEDLIFE FSU, the Co-President of FSU's Greeks Going Green Program, and was a director on the FSU Homecoming executive council. She is also an active member of her sorority, Chi Omega, Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society, and the Pre-PA club. Along with medicine and the environment, one of her many passions is travel; she studied abroad in Valencia, Spain last summer and participated in a medical mission trip to Lima, Peru this Spring. Stanley is a third year business major with a concentration in Finance at the Florida A&M University School of Business & Industry. Originally from Haiti, Stanley moved to the United States at the age of fifteen and his native languages are French and Creole. He also speaks Spanish. He believes in helping others. Since entering his sophomore year in high school, Stanley has become a mentor, and a tutor for many of his peers, including other older members of the community where he lives through a program he co-founded called Mentoring Tomorrow Leaders (MTL). He plans on becoming the CEO or CFO of a major financial institution some day or or working” with UNICEF as a humanitarian.

After graduation, she plans to continue her education and earn an MBA in international management. Jessica holds leadership roles in several organizations on campus. She is the vice president of publicity for the Student Activities Council, and vice president of social events in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She also is involved in the Student Government Association, Phi Eta Sigma and Centennial Leaders, and she was selected to be a part of the university's Globalization Special Task Force. When Jessica is not busy with academics and campus organizations, she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family. Amanda is pursuing a degree in chemistry, focused in biochemistry, from Missouri University of Science and Technology, (formerly known as UMR). Amanda plans to use her diverse skills and interest, including training in fine and design arts, to cultivate a dual career as an educator and social entrepreneur after graduate school. Sarah Kaschke is a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she is majoring in molecular and cellular biology in preparation for a career in the health field. At UIUC, she is the secretary of Illini Collegians for Life, is involved in hall council, likes to swing dance and volunteers for Illini Fight Against Hunger. You can almost always find her at the undergraduate library, but when she's not studying, she likes to play soccer, volleyball and tennis, and she loves to go to basketball and hockey games. Sarah is excited to be working with Pearson Education and looks forward to gaining leadership experience while also helping students utilize Pearson's tools to their full potential.

Martina is a student at The Ohio State University pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Operations Management. At OSU, she is fully involved in the Professional Business Fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, and is a member of the Undergraduate Business Women’s Association. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, she spends most of her spare time cheering on the Buckeyes during football season and relaxing with her friends. She is most passionate about pursuing her minor in Dance, and fulfilled her love of travel by completing a two month internship in London, England this past summer. Outside of the classroom at Ohio State, she is an active member of the professional business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi, where she serves as a committee head. Along with that, she is also actively involved in Buckeyes for Public Health where she donates her time to different non-profits around the Columbus community. When Jake is not studying you can find him near a lake fishing, watching his favorite sports teams, or spending time with his friends and family. Jake is a very social person who loves meeting new people which is why he is so grateful to be a part of the Pearson team! What excites Jake most about becoming a Pearson Campus Ambassador is all of the professional experience that the position has to offer him.

Sterling Woerner is a driven and goal oriented student currently studying Marketing and Communications at Texas A&M. She grew up in a small town in south Texas and found bliss through being active, developing long lasting relationships, and traveling. She finds happiness in personal growth, education, and experiencing new things. Growing up the middle child out of 5, she naturally developed into an instinctual leader driven by ambition to make a difference. She is humbled by her experiences during her upbringing, from traveling to tragedies; she looks back with appreciation for life and is grateful for all experiences. She has always been extremely involved in academics and extracurricular activities. She is currently working two jobs while in college, taking a full course load, and being highly involved in two Greek business organizations. She is always on the run but wouldn’t have it any other way.

LaRonn is currently a student at Ivy Tech Community College located in downtown Indianapolis. He is pursuing an Associates degree in Business Administration. Once completed he will transfer to Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis finishing with a degree in Marketing. Eventually LaRonn inspires to be an entrepreneur and philanthropist. When he is not in class or studying, LaRonn is structuring and operating is car hauling service Stay Busy Transport. During his free time he enjoys being a Cameron Crazy Duke fan and surfing fashion media outlets. LaRonn is thrilled to help tradition and non-traditional students learn and better their education while using Pearson products.

Brittany is attending Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. She is pursuing a degree in psychology, which she plans to use for a career in human resources. Brittany loves helping others and being around people, which is why she is super excited to be a Pearson Campus Ambassador. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, being outside and active, and relaxing and watching movies. She can't wait to see what new experiences the PCA program will bring her!

Nicole, or “Niki,” is a student at California State University, Chico where she is pursuing a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. She is very involved on her campus and is an active member in her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, and Phi Chi Theta, her business and economics fraternity. During her free time, Niki enjoys reading, running, horseback riding, spending time with friends, and – most of all – traveling. In the future, she hopes to attend graduate school and live in a big city. She has been a part of the PCA program since April 2013 and looks forward to making the most of her time as an ambassador until graduation.

Alex Noakes is an undergraduate at Oregon State University where she studies Marketing while also working as a lab assistant for the OSU Dept. of Chemistry. During the school year, Alex is always looking for new ways to involve herself around campus, she’s been an active member of many clubs, including OSU’s Peer Health Advocates. As a PHA member, Alex discovered her love for connecting with new people and providing helpful resources for those in her community. She hopes to eventually earn a masters degree in marketing or product development and dreams of starting an independent marketing firm. Outside of work and school, her interests include cooking, thrift-shopping, and playing with her dog, Charlie.

Steve is a veteran Pearson Campus Ambassador, and a native of Sylmar. Steve is majoring in Chemical Engineering with an emphasis in nano-science (manipulating particles at the nano scale). In 2013 he served as the Los Angeles Mission College Technology Senator on the Associated Student Organization Board. It is his wish to one day transfer to a technical college such as Caltech or MIT. Being very accustomed to the local geography Steve is a regular hiker of the mountains overlooking Veteran's Park. He is also on the El Cariso Park Basketball League and a member of the Robotics Club as a specialist in microprocessor coding and 3-D Printing. It is his long term goal to become the foremost expert on Nanotechnology.

Gilberto Sosa

Gilberto is a transfer student from Phoenix College where he served as the President of the Phi-Theta-Kappa International Honors Society; He is also a graduate of the distinguished LeaderShape Academy and a member of the award winning Student Public Policy Forum amongst many others. Also, he is the Co-Founder of Voices United, a 501-C4 corporation which mission is to help underrepresented students achieve their academic goals.

Gilberto has been named a member of the All Arizona/ All USA First Academic Team, and one of the 40 Hispanic Leaders Under 40 by Univision and Valle del Sol. He has also been awarded the MCCCD Chancellor's Civic Leadership Medallion amongst a multitude of other awards.

Gilberto seeks to create pathways to encourage college and university completion to ALL students alike. He is the voice of the voiceless and a servant leader at heart.

Canada

Armin Rezaiean-Asel

Computer and Software Engineering | Sophomore | Expected Date of Graduation: Spring 2017

Since 2009, Armin has been involved in the creation and development of Project HELLO, an initiative through which Armin and his peers were able to reconnect over 550 homeless individuals from the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver with their loved ones across Canada. He has also helped raise over $25,000 for grassroots charities combating youth homelessness in Vancouver.

Furthermore, he chaired UShapEd, a conference that brought together students and executives of British Columbia’s education system to discuss the future of education. Through this role, Armin was able to represent the voices of over 30,000 students and present the conference’s results to British Columbia’s Minister of Education. He has also interned for the Council of Europe and spent a summer working at a grassroots level in Kenya.

Armin has received the Loran Scholarship, has been named one of Canada’s Top 20 Under 20, and received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his local and global activism efforts. He hopes to one day combine his knowledge of technology with combating a real-world challenge.

Mina is a student at Wilfrid Laurier University pursuing a degree in Business Administration. She is a self-motivated individual and is very excited to be a part of Pearson's Campus Ambassador program. As a PCA, she enjoys helping students and faculty on her campus. During her spare time, Mina loves to explore the city and check out all the local coffee shops in her area. She's not exactly sure what she wants to do in the future but she's not afraid of trying new things.

Sebastian is a current student and Loran Scholar at the University of Ottawa, located in Ottawa, Ontario. Originally from British Colombia, Sebastian is fluent in three languages, and is currently completing an Honors major in Political Science. Sebastian enjoys competing in various sports, organizing events, and travelling. He recently completed a three-month internship with an environmental NGO in one of the world’s most isolated environments: the tiny island of Saint Helena, just over 2,000 miles from the coast of Namibia. Since entering university, Sebastian has become a Community Advisor in Residence, and volunteers with his student association. He looks forward to being a resource for other students, and helping his peers academically.

Originally from Saskatchewan, Brittany moved to Montreal, Quebec to attend McGill University and pursue a degree in Microbiology & Immunology. At McGill, Brittany works as a Pearson Campus Ambassador in addition to working part-time at the campus bookstore. She is also involved in numerous organizations on campus, including Best Buddies, an organization that aims to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities, as well as an elementary school mentoring program called Homework Zone. In her spare time, Brittany enjoys reading, exploring Montreal, and volunteering at an immunology laboratory to gain experience in scientific research. After graduation, Brittany plans to further her education and hopes to either attend medical school or pursue a Master's degree in the field of Immunology.

Aleesha is a International Business major whose unprecedented passion for helping others, persistence and dedication has been conducive to her academic and extra-curricular achievements. Aleesha possesses a strong belief in the equity of education, universally. This belief was triggered from her experience in global outreach in Latin America. She initially confronted poverty when she traveled abroad to the Dominican Republic where she volunteered in English classrooms at a local high school and at the University of Barahona. More recently, Aleesha travelled to Talanga, Honduras where her initiative was to build a feeding center that provides a safe haven for children.

Currently, Aleesha is the Co-President of the organization at her school that facilitates the cultural transition of 100+ exchange students each year which includes planning their orientation and cultural events throughout the semester. Aleesha is dedicated to promoting social justice at her University as she was recently appointed to serve on her University Tribunal.

Aleesha’s previous training in figure skating currently allows her to give back to her community by teaching skating lessons at her local hockey rink part-time. On a more intimate note, Aleesha exudes exceptional drive and her outgoing nature has resulted in her love for traveling. She will be finishing off her last semester of university in Europe.
