The Pearson Scholarship for Higher Education
Each year, The Pearson Scholarship for Higher Education awards ten $5,000 scholarships to Phi Theta Kappa members who are enrolled in community college and intend to continue their education at a four-year institution. In addition, each Pearson Scholar is paired with a Pearson professional mentor who will provide support throughout his or her progress toward a degree.
Scholarship requirements
Along with being a Phi Theta Kappa member in good standing, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Must be enrolled full- or part-time in a community college at the time of application
- Must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA on all college-level coursework
- Must have completed 12–36 semester hours (12–54 quarter hours) of college-level coursework before applying
- Must have completed the Leaders of Promise Scholarship application along with an additional essay question
