You will have seen this evening’s announcement by the UK government on further national restrictions being implemented in the UK, including UK school closures. We know that you will be thinking through and dealing with the implications of this across all areas of life and work - for yourselves, your families and your local and educational communities.
Following the Prime Minister’s broadcast this evening, we are working urgently with the Department of Education and Ofqual to confirm if this announcement also impacts the BTEC exams scheduled to start this week. As soon as we know more, we’ll update you.

Today, the Department for Education announced further adaptations to General Qualifications. As you will know, we have been working closely with DfE, JCQ, Ofqual and other regulators to ensure that learners studying for their BTEC qualifications are subject to the same or equivalent mitigations as their fellow students studying towards GCSE, AS and A Levels. Our priority is always to ensure fairness and parity for our BTEC learners.
